I just moved back home with my parents for a month and this morning they went down the shore for two weeks. My one job was to mow the lawn. So, about an hour ago, I went outside to do it.

And broke the lawnmower.

Actually, I just broke the starter pull - which came all loose and am now unable to start the mower (obviously).

The bad news? It was a new lawnmower. Not actually sure how big a problem this is, I looked it up online and its a pretty easy problem to fix. Not for a 25 year old girl who has only mowed the lawn once in her life….but probably for anyone else.

The other bad news? The grass is pretty long. But, I don’t want to ask a neighbor to borrow lawnmower and then break their starter pully! How embarrassing would that be!

The good? My dad is about 5-6 hours away now and cannot give out the exact lashing that he usually would if he were here. Although, I suppose, if he were here he would have just mowed the lawn himself.

Solution? Not sure yet. I have called my younger brother, who lives in the city - but is currently at a tournament elsewhere. Left a frantic message that he must call me back immediately to borrow a neighbor’s mower and mow the lawn at our house because I, being the idiot I am, broke the pully.

Called my mom, but no answer. I’m thinking I can wait a little until I break the inevitable to my dad. Because he is scary.

Damn it, I can’t believe I broke it!

I am moving home tomorrow. I’m leaving my first apartment...

I am moving home tomorrow. I’m leaving my first apartment in the city, the place where I have lived for the past 2 years and the first place that *I* paid rent and learned the value of my dollar being completely wasted on renting. I love my apartment. And I’m sad to leave it and the lovely roomate that eventually came along with it.

I know that everyone has to eventually, move, change, evolve. But I do hate parts of it.

Well maybe he didn’t say it quite like that, but this whole article offends the crap out of me. First off, the Phillies sucked for like, 8 straight years following the 1993 world series…and fans came out and supported them even in their time of stink. They also missed the playoffs by one game the 2 seasons before last - and fans still came out and sold out their games.

I think there is a huge difference between being a fairweather fan city and just calling out your team when they are playing like ass. For example, right now. Fans are still selling out games, fans are still rooting for them and showing their support - yeah we get cranky and mean and boo from time to time but realistically - we are there. Good AND bad.

I was in Colorado for game 3 of the first round of playoffs last season and at least half of the fans just became fans within that year. You know, when they started playing well. A lot of the fans in the audience had just come to their first baseball game, in the first round of the playoffs. And they had enough balls to give ME crap about how bad our fans are. Pfft.

Say what you want about Philly - yeah we are mean, yeah we expect a lot - but when players that are making a lot of money consistantly play awful - they deserve a little boo. By us fans, who are still sitting in the sellout stands.

One of my favorite things is to watch people reunited with each other at the airport. There is such a feeling of pure love and happiness that is so overwhelming and so unseen almost anywhere else…its wonderful.
